I have Webmin on Ubuntu 10.10. The method is similar to this one, and you do need to get some files from the Debian repo's, but so far so good.

wtf, I did the same things as you, but when i do sudo apt-get install -f i get the following message:
The following packages will be REMOVED: webmin

@evanraalte I did this ages ago. Anyway, my guess is your packages are messed up. I did this on a fresh install mind you. Good luck man.
