Within minutes this storm came in on Lake Michigan, endangering many boaters out enjoying the day, including the Ultimate 20 Nationals from the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club. Wind gusts of up to 53 miles an hour quickly made it impossible to even see all the boaters. Fortunately no boaters were lost, although there was damage done to some boats including a broken mast and rudder. This was shot at Holland Channel by Holland State Park and shot with a Sony Cyber-shot® Digital Camera HX100V

  • Thanks for posting. It was quite a storm, and quite a ride in from the race course.

Were you in that storm??? We watched it roll in so quickly and were really praying for you guys out there. I wouldn't have been surprised if someone's boat capsized in that. Our weather station said gusts up to 53mph and those boats didn't look that big! Having survived it though, you'll have a great story for the rest of your life!

  • @SpyglassSally How is the low light quality?

  • @JerseyShore117

I've not had the camera that long but am very happy with it in low light settings. It has some special modes for low light to reduce blur. Also manual settings where you can decreases the ISO sensitivity by increments of 1/3 as follows: ISO100 ISO125 ISO160 ISO200 ... ISO3200. You can see the User Guide with more detailed info at URL: esupport.sony.com/docs/dvimag/DSCHX100V_guide/eng/index.html . I love it & sold my DSLR with no regrets.

  • @SpyglassSally Great, I was thinking about changing from the Panasonic Fz100, to the Sony HX100V, is it definitely worth it?

  • @SpyglassSally

Yes, we were out there. Just finished (the RC shortened the race by a leg) when it hit. We got a little video on the way in and posted it under my username (mattgate1). Thanks again for the video.
