Is it possible to upgrade from this: 1 x 1024 mb ram (ddr3 pc3-10700)
1 x 2048 mb ram (ddr3 pc3-10700)
to this 2 x 4 Gb DDR3-1066 PC3-8500 CL7

@Terraapples no, all that would do is increase drive space, the memory increases RAM (random access memory) but does not affect drive space

and in terms of your lag etc, yes i think you need a RAM upgrade + HDD upgrade + GPU upgrade.
Best option is to buy a whole new PC, most likely, but if not possible:
4GB RAM $40 + 1TB WD Caviar Black HDD $80 + GPU $anywhere from $150-300 for an very high spec one.

i got a acer laptop for free the other week as it didn't work n was in bad shape. i stripped it down and got it working got a power supply and installed vista. works like a charm apart from its so so slow because of 1GB of ram. it maxes out the ram and then i get judder and lockup. i just had an additional 1GB of ram turn up today that is identical to the stick inside so i can dual channel. its in and running and is so so fast. i'm writing this on it right now :)
