This really brings back a lot of good old memories! My classmates were regular dancers on his show Disc-O-Teen, and I did not dance but watched from the monitor room above the dance floor. He is a very great and entertaining guy!

I met John Zacherle in 1966 or 67 when my brother and I traveled from NY to Newark to dance on Disc-O-Teen.
Zack was so handsome and kind, and he drove us back to NYC. I've always had a soft spot for him.
BTW - I saw the Lovin' Spoonful in concert in the 60's, too!

@schatzi1951 At a thriller theater or chiller theater convention a mail man asked him where do you live he said transylvania he started in pennsylvania as roland the undertaker I met him at the bunky and jake concert at FDU he had the lovin spoonful on his UHF show discoteen and he was on their last album revolution 69

@moosisha : I believe Arlene Francis was referring to "My Dear," the unseen character that was part of Zach's routine. In other words, she not only recognized him, she knew enough to refer to one of the frequent bits of schtick.

What a delight! I've always loved John Zacherle! Seeing him looking so handsome, without his ghoul makeup, is amazing! Anyway, I noted that Arlene Francis refers to Zach's wife. I've never found any mention of marriage in his personal life. Does anyone have any information about her?
