  • I am glad to see this presented as a federal tax scheme, because that is what it is.

    If we really want to reduce CO2 emissions, we'd: 1) put out forest fires; 2) remove dead, rotting wood from our forests; 3) use the dead wood mass to produce energy; 4) thin over-stocked stands to preserve OG; & 5) plant healthy seedlings in burned areas.

    These steps would: dramatically reduce CO2; reduce wildfire risk & effects; improve public health; create rural jobs; produce energy; & create tax revenues.
