  • such nice language! You really show you are an open minded person, ready to learn new things!

I bet you will get very far in life with this attitude. With language like this, everybody will be begging you to learn you new things, because you are such a nice student. Always ready to absorb new knowledge, definitely not one of those "traditional is the only way for me" kind of persons, right?

  • lets have a closer look at the shoeing job please..

  • Shoes are not bad. Barefoot is the best but only when it's possible. I tried barefoot before my horse ever got shod, but he wore his feet down too fast. Barefoot boots have other problems than iron shoes. They put a lot of stress on the legs as well, by too much grip thightening on the hoof, rubbing etc you need to concider both, then decide which is best for your horse. A well done shoeing allow hoof mechanism + let the hoof slide as much as it's supposed to, tho pavement is some too slippery.

  • If you look very carefully at the landing on the first hoof, you'll see that it lands toe first, then all the energy jams backwards. A horse should land heel first, then the toe, then roll right off, just like you. It's this jammed backwards mechanism that results in navicular.

  • Go to see the masters of natural hoof trimming web-sites, as simple as that.:).

Disadvantages of shoeing has been too clearly shown off, marked, registered, written down... BUT not yet so perfectly well taken into concideration....However THAT is the first thing to do....

  • I have to say, I have my thoughts by these kind of clips. They are made to show us how bad it is for a horse to have shoes on. It is made to shock. I would like to see clips with a article which is made by an independent person(s) that has no bias about the topic.

  • borium and pads would help if the horse is used on pavement often

  • That really is something. Good job!

You can see at the end, that horse drags its feet a bit. Take it over a few poles so it learns to pick up its feet =)

  • Nice video - it really shows how the shoes slip on pavement. I remember feeling this back when my horse was shod.
