  • This is not Shaolin. It's a nice form. But not Shaolin.

  • i dont think so ...

  • Kendo Boxing, etc, are about as toned down as could be as there are rules and limitations are striking. On the battle field, strike a groin, break a shin, bite a man.

  • no they are used to look flashy and spin quickly without having to acquire the necessary skill to do so properly with real weight weapons.

  • I must disagree that they are good for any type of practice. You can get full weight unsharpened swords to practice with safely. You do not need to use tin foil swords such as these.

  • hmmm most Chinese martial arts are not for killings. they're mainly for meditation, exercise, and self-defense ( they 're many measurements to prevent one accidentally killing his/her opponent )

If you go for battlefield and kill martial art, go for kendo, thai boxing and such. those are for battle fields - killing as much as they can before they died.

  • Exactly.

They are for sport, not martial art. (as it would have to be martial, to be a martial art)

  • lol thats why theyre used for sports and competitions instead of win or lose/ life and death.

  • Great for practice? Yes, practicing flashy showy stuff, but practicing real swordfighting, would be impossible, with those kind of blades.

  • lol like i said, theyre only for flash. They just make loud noises to impress the crowds and judges. if you look up wushu competitions they use those types of broadswords all the the time. plus theyre great for practice and prevent dangerous injuries.
