He's right at many points, but he definetely didn't "own" her. The language you use is both an important part of your image, and a tool to set the tone for your conversation with the other person.
I find refraining from curse words classy in itself, and often it's a good indication of one's self-control ability, sensitivity and respect for others.
Destiny is NOT a stable person of balanced views, he's still an angry rebel in a lot of ways. Which attracts young people.

Wow you guys are jerks to his Mom. She was in a generation where language such as we use its swiftly punished. Please if Nate read this, it would make him feel bad to know that hundreds of comments are about hating her. But of course, I can't stop what you guys say.
