Back in 1985, it was a cold drizzly day in San Francisco. The 49ers had one more team to beat before the National Championship, the Chicago Bears. Knowing not to underestimate their opponents, they needed absolute focus... and the best damn national anthem they've ever heard. With hopes of them going on to a Super Bowl, they put their trust into Joe Cannon to sing the blessed anthem of our proud country. Let it be known, the 49ers took the field that day and beat the Bears 23-0. Joe Cannon's National Anthem performance was so inspiring... the 49ers played a replay of it in the locker room just before Super Bowl 19... and won. Two weeks later the Bears and Dolphins filed a suite against the 49ers to the NFL committee. The allegations were that Joe Cannon was doping during the time of his performance. Shortly after the charges were dropped from blood test results. The 49ers built a statue of Joe Cannon, but unfortunately only lasted until 1989 when the earthquake destroyed it. Enjoy this short clip of Joe Cannon singing the National Anthem.

This by far one of the best pregame singing of the National Anthem that I've ever heard...I'm saving this to be inspired when everything in the country seems to be going to crap....a regular guy, singing the right notes, the right words, without the excess junk that these current singers try to inject only to ruin it. . This is fabulous!!!!!!!
