Actually, with the proper samples, you can do the same with the cheaper crappy digital sampler...

Errrr...no. The Sound Source is analogue looped magnetic tape with all it's wonderfull rich sound and quirky modulations according to the mechanics. This can never be done with Samples or Software. Why do you think people still use these old instruments? Because they sound and feel better!

Because they actually recorded musical instruments and accompaniments!
