Key Food has been the only Supermarket in the Windsor Terrace section of Brooklyn for over 35 years (and the space was another Supermarket long before that). It was recently announced that Key Food is closing and the space will become a Walgreens Pharmacy.
Many residents without cars are now going to have nowhere nearby to buy food (especially the elderly citizens). It should also be noted that most residents of the neighborhood have always been very fond of the two local "mom & pop" pharmacies, which brings up the question why the neighborhood needs a big chain pharmacy in the first place.
