Chippie08,you are right in saying that they used the plain yellow and the yellow with the H.However they did use the plain red.In the start of the war plain red was used by both sides,then the union medical dept. adopted plain yellow.After Antietam,the union went to yellow with the green H.The south always kept the flag plain red.

Nice video, but at 03:24 when the surgeon hoists the hospital flag that flag should have been plain yellow or yellow with a green H in the center as by army regulamentations since. Red flags identified ambulance depots.
