@201IRISH: The Uniden UBC3500XLT (the one in the video) is probably the best scanner for any radio system (apart from tetra) used in Ireland. It costs about €130 second hand, and about €220 new from eBay sellers in the UK.
None of the American scanners (usually called "BC" rather than "UBC") pick up 84mhz band (used by Irish Fire and Ambulance Control). The only one which does in the Uniden BCD396XT which costs about €350 but does same as UBC3500XLT.

1st one is our pager tone. have a scanner myself. we dont test each day though

And the pagers get tested every morn
at 11.40am keep an ear out.....
