Blake's 7 Sand

One of the best moments in Blakes 7 was in the episode Sand. (One of the most amazing science fiction stories I've ever seen). Now I'm sorry for nicking this in all my badliness. But I couldn't resist. All of the Blake's 7 fans will know what is going on but basically for those of you who don't.

Servalan is the major enemy in Blake's 7 and Tarrant is one of the heroes in the 4th series. They are in this episode stranded on a planet which has evil sand on it (god my explainations are awful) Anyhow the sand lives off energy given off by living beings, and it's picked Tarrant and Servalan in order to make them breed so it's going to pretty much havest any offspring it can. I wont give anymore information.

Haha delightful scene. Tanith Lee is a great writer, it's a shame her Davison era Doctor Who story was never made as it sounds like it would be a corker. Sand is a great B7 episode. Dudley's music is very subtle and creepy in this one, and the sound effects for the planet's surface are spine tingling. Steven Pacey is terrific here, and though I'm not too taken with the idea of a weepy Servalan, Jackie Pearce gives it her all.
