Right remark, playing for a big audience is good for the ego, playing for an intimite crowd is better for the soul. Another advantage might be that for a real small crowd the music can be more acoustic and I think that's good for this kind of music and vocals. It makes it warmer. Musicians finding their own balance in sound and listening to each other. Deep Purple was great (and still is) but I also like this music.
