Known to be the smallest twin-engine airplane in the world (4.90m wingspan, 72kg empty weight, 2x15HP), it still has a 190km/h cruise speed and is capable of executing all the basic positive aerobatic maneuvers. Formation flight and air-to-air shots with an Avid Hauler homebuilt.

  • Why not ditch the two funny looking engine and get a single 30hp engine and bigger prop?

  • Because if you have 2, when one fails you don't end on i a field... and it counts, as that kind of small 2-stroke engines aren't the most reliable around.

That, and there's no common 30hp engine around that fits the bill in terms of weight, etc.

  • Wow thats amazing, I was wondering if there is any examples of people owning small manned planes (i.e cri cri) being used as both manned aircraft or for RC? I ask this because i have seen many manned aircraft smaller (at least in size) than some rc modles! Such a thing would look great shows both rc and otherwise.

  • There is one person that has an RC full-size cri-cri, but that's only because he wasn't able to get it certifed for manned flight due to an error in construction, making it RC meant he hadn't lost everything...

I don't see anyone making a plane that is both RC and manned though, if you have a plane you can fly in it makes no point risking to break it by flying it RC, which is usually quite a bit more risky. Plus, good luck getting such a thing certified...

  • the problem with the putt-putt plane is that if the engines die, you can't relight them from inside.

  • Yeah can be annoying on the ground, you need to either get out again or have someone restart them for you. In flight however the windmilling keeps them turning. So if they stop, it's nearly in any case because of something you couldn't fix in flight anyway. And like with any twin, one engine is enough to keep the plane in flight. BTW, I recently reposted that video in HD for those who ant to enjoy, just check my other videos.

  • @Timb0NZ

Larger prop = ground clearance problem.

Plus as the other comment said: One 30hp engine weighs more than 2 15hp.

Plus, installing a single engine destroys the looks and you wont have legspace, and new C.G. problems

  • Is the whole airplane made out of wood ? If so then what type of wood ?

Do you sell this entire airplane and engine in a kit and for how much in U.S. dollars?

  • That's awesome!

  • I would love it if I could keep one in my garage and fly to work.

  • Would you have space for the legs?

  • quiero uno jaja. que bueno!
