@redshiftexperiment First, both are real decent phones. But with the Sammy, I've noticed it lags at times when opening and closing apps (up to 10 seconds) - not sure why. Could be that it's overloaded with crap - it's the missus phone. The second thing is the Sat Nav on the Galaxy has sent us on a wild goose chase several times. In comparison the Desire has been spot on every time. Note that I have a friend who has the Samsung and they say it's perfect.

hey, my bro has a htc desire and i have the SGS i personaly think the htc desire is better(from a non bias point of view)because i have had some issues with the touch. it has some performance problems but there are lag fixes but it just made it worse i dont think there realieable, the htc desire is all most flawless and has better build quality and has a much better feel in the hand.and yes the SGS has a plasticy feel some may like it but i certainly dont. id go for da htc but sgs is very good

I like Samsung better than HTC samsung looks nicer has more memory is bigger has better cases the camera is better has more battery life is faster I have the HTC Desire but I wish I had the Galaxy I got the HTC one because the plan was cheaper

@IPODgotFUCKEDbyCYDIA if your desire is lagging its cus you are doings something wrong. like running out of internal memory or something. try moving some of your apps to ur sd card so you can free up some memory. not to mention like all devices you have to empty all your browser caches from time to time. i have had my desire for 6 months and i dont have those issues its very fast and very smooth but i also dont clog it up with a bunch of apps on my internal memory i move most to my sd card.
