@jklein920 A lot of bass boats have the transducers mounted inside. It's just one less thing to sink you if it fails. It can affect the readings on bigger boats if installed incorrectly, but the thin kayak material will not hinder the ability of the finder.

Wait a second. You can mount the transducer inside the yak? I was always under the impression it had to be in the water. How does it affect the resolution/reception?

I hope you post a vid on that

My fishfinder is less then a year old, It makes you look at the areas you have fished and know in a whole other way! They are worth the money, bt when the kids go I try to show them the old ways then walk them slowly into the new.

Nice, great "how to" video. I really like the idea of putting the battery in the foam block.

One Thing I forgot to mention in the video, I will be attaching a solar panel to the deck to recharge or trickle charge the battery.

So far the battery has lasted over 7 days without a charge

For over 30 years I had fished by using my senses and also by watching the change in the weather and also by the habitat of the fish species.
I have been asked to fish in the ocean (Bay)recently and if I am going to fish someplace I have never been I might as well have that edge up on it. The salesman who sold this to me said that I will see all the places I have fished before in a new light.
Thanks For Your Comment.
