@osensor If you hit a high and deep serve, the only player who risks is the one smashing, since you'll be smashing a vertical shuttle from the middle rearcourt... not very awesome, isn't it? The high serve is a great weapon to have in your arsenal in case the backhand low serve doesn't work on the opponent.

I play for an hour, I ache for a week, and am now on youtube looking up tips and techniques so I can beat his ass.

Badminton is awesome. One of the hardest sports I've ever played. Respect to all who play it.

@MrBadmintonnoob lifting and net dripping are not the only two options for reacting to a low serve. I like to push a straight flat drive to my opponent's back court, especially when I am on the right service box as I am pushing it straight into his back hand.
