@LoveJewelrydotNL He said it was to help with spilling. You don't wanna get any wax on your stove or around the actual burner so the foil helps prevent any "leakage".

Nice video. One thing though: why do you use aluminum foil under your melting pot?

yeah he doesn't do a very good demo. As far as I know I use temps around 160-180 either way makes good candles. Only thing I have problems with is my candles sometimes dip in the middle and I have to wait until they are cool then add just a bit more to even the top and fill them in. Which sucks.. wish I knew the way to not dip in the middle having to fill in? DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. Thanks

how do you get rid of the transcription on the screen???

Your goal temp is going to depend on the flash point of your fragrance, Good scents all have different flash points.

Fortunately I know how LOL

yup that is so true.

Marijhouse did you ever get your answer to the correct temperature ?

I guess he's just showing how to make them at home for personal use with a few basic items and ingredients. You could probably make candles that would sell at a local craft market, but the expert candles are done on a mass scale? It would be fun to try at home and as you get better at it you can refine your technique until you have the desired product ready to sell

You know it is interesting all of these videos not just his but all of you tubes, none of them show you how to actually make a candle worth selling these people do not want to give away their real secrets to making a GOOD worth while candle.
he went to the trouble of making them, be grateful! if you dont like it, make your own!
