How large is the human genome?
How does the human genome compare to a PlayStation 3.
Is there such a thing as a gay gene?
How are the different human races different genetically?
Are mental disorders causes by genetics?
How large is the human genome compared to a mouse or a grain of rice?

  • I'd like to get my genome in between her breasts.

What does she mean by "WE found about the genome"...when did she do genetic research?

  • Windows XP IS the definition of "Junk"

  • Most plants have more genes because of polyploidy. This means that the genome is in most cases tripled (3n) or in some cases up to 6n as in wheat. This means that counting the number of genes shouldnt be used to compare genomes and their information. Also the puffer fish comment is not accurate - it still has a lot of junk DNA. Whereas our genes exist in 3% of the genome the puffer fish genes exist in 15% of the genome (Genome News Network, June 2000)

  • plants & amoeba have so many because they have to do everything with chemistry, it's like difference between single function circuits and programable computers

  • people choose to be gay las

  • nice video

  • hmm... listing a couple of numbers is actually not that hard... still, good job.

3:40 25k genes vs. 250k proteins: ever heard of alternative splicing? ;)

7:30 blood contains DNA (thanks to for example leucocytes), whilst red blood cells indeed don't

additionally: races are most likely discriminated by regulation patterns, not by genes (that is why we have so many genes in common with chimps).
