Quarter Midget Racing Orlando Florida 1950s

This was filmed in 8mm in the late 1950s at Lake Fairview Park off Lee Road. There was a state of the art asphalt race track built there with banked turns and bleachers...nice little track. It was there a relatively short time then totally disappeared and the racing moved to Clarcona. Previous to this track, we used to go to the JM Fields parking lot on East Colonial Drive to watch them race. I thought someone might appreaciate seeing this film from so long ago (over 50 years).

I just love seeing this as a kid we had a track down the road from us i only watched BUT i have one now but i cant get in it i wish more would post there old home movies like you did thanks

I dont think shocks or seat belts were installed back then so thats one hell of a ride

Thanks for sharing. I enjoy every second of the film. We have several reels of our racing in Portland, OR during the 50's 60' and 70's at Alpenrose Dairlyland Race Track. I recognize most of the cars. We had two ChrisCrafts and two Moss Midgets and finally a Rodan that was custom built for my youngest sister in 1967.
