This preamble by Sister Helen Prejean sets the stage for a serious discussion about the morality of capital punishment. A panel of 7 pre-eminent spiritual thinkers shared their thoughts about the death penalty, in the city that is the seat of the county many think of as the execution capitol of the western world. A series of seven thought-provoking talks follows. The event, which took place January 18, 2011, in Zilkha Hall at Hobby Center, Houston, Texas, was sponsored by many organizations, most of which will be identified in comments.

  • I should not comment on my own posting, but I cannot help myself. Sister Helen brings me to tears.
