@moOswe Because bickering about what the Japanese did that was inhumane or what the US did that was just as bad detracts from the purpose here. People get on here and just go "The Japs were a bunch of war criminals!" which of course is followed by "Well the Americans did bad stuff too! What about the atom bombs?!" People don't even bother to think that they weren't getting massacred on the beach for political purposes, they were just there fighting and dieing and it sucked for both sides.

Why the hell do they put stupid aussies in American war movies? (The "gunny" is Gary Sweet) I'd love to hear what they would say if someone made a movie about Gallipoli with an American cast.

@svenmega10022 Then they wouldn't be able to use the islands to take Japan itself, you realize that they captured those islands for a reason and that is to get closer and closer to Japan and evetually invade it using Okinawa as a launching base. People need to realize that battles are fought over gound not to just wipe out the enemy.
