You Can't Carry That Stick

Video shot at the Raleigh Taxpayers' Protest, 11.14.09. Apparently, the police had been given orders that protesters would not be allowed to carry signs on stickcs, but flags on giant javelin like PVC poles would be allowed. Here is a rather obnoxious Capitol policeman making two very dangerous protesters take the sticks off their signs. The second guy has, I kid you not, a PAINT STIR in his sign!

My God. They are elder, respectable people. I would see the officers point if they were drunken youths who are out to stir a problem.As if they are going to start a riot, the only riot would be at the hospital treating broken hips.

Ok, Who is running Raleigh? These people have some serious problems. A paint stirrer? Really? What did they think he was going to do, stir something? Hmm!

Maybe the powers that be in Raleigh were afraid that's exactly what the sign carriers would do, stir something up. But they are way too late for that. We are already stirred up, and taking our sticks off our signs won't shut us down.How juvenile! When have you ever heard of people not being allowed to protest with a sign on a stick in America?
