Neda's Song - An Original Composition

This is a song I'm writing in memory of Neda Agha-Soltan (ندا آقا سلطان ) who was slain by a Basij militia's shot through the heart on June 20, 2009 in the streets of Tehran. Right now I have the piano part done, but I'm still working on the lyrics and arrangement using my Korg Triton synthesizer. When the whole piece is ready, I'll upload a full devotion memorial with my song.

Here's the lyrics (they are open to adjustment):

Verse 1

On the street her body bled
As we watched her soul had fled
On the day that Neda died

At the moment of her passing
You could hear the angels cry
For the life that had gone by

Neda gave her life to bring forth liberty
She dreamed one day to see her nation free
Her call will break her people from
The chains that bound God's love
From the hearts of men

And struck her heart with perfect aim
To take a life that had no blame

Hear Neda's call for freedom's victory
In a land that couldn't bear
The price for truth her life had paid

Enemies of love that made her dear.
