  • Hi.. I installed the mod. it looks wonderful btw and from what I hear it works really well. I have an Acer Aspire One D150, which is a bit different. I took apart the computer, installed the aluminium parts and then put it back together, but now I have a problem. when I press the power button nothing happens, nothing at all. Not even the fan turns on, it is as if the power button was disconnected. I reopened the computer and checked if I had forgotten some cable, but no. Ideas? Help? :)

    Hi

really interesting. ?This happens very often if you are beginner in solving PC problems when it becomes necessary of disassembling. You can try to disassemble parts that you replaced and put it together again. Check if the power button is not jammed so it is impossible to reach the switch on motherboard also try to start the pc pushing direct over the motherboard switch to turn on the pc. If you are not sure what to do bring the laptop on nearest PC service and ask for help.

  • I can not get A1CTL or AA1 to work on my Acer Aspire One D250-1165 or my Gateway LT2005u (same as the acer).

  • That is happened because both programs are developed for AOA-150 and some BIOS releases of AOA - 110 even there is special edition for each BIOS version developed only for AOA-150 and AOA - 110. As I said before I DO NOT recommend you to use these programs, or my mod to any machines different than AOA-110 and AOA-150.

  • You should check if there is some releases for your bios version!

  • I use AA1FanControl to silence the fan,

    (fan on 72 / off 65)

It runs at 60ish, fan only comes on when I play a youtube video etc.

I'm about to do this mod, hopefully I''ll be able to keep the temps down to 50s

  • for me it's works between 47/55 I reach 60 only during a game or watching videos on internet.

  • Great Mod! Where can I get a heatsink like the one in the video? ...anyone got a link? Stay Cool!

  • Used one roughly the size of the empty space of the heatsink on mine, temps are now 35~40 idle (45~55 when room temp is high) with fan off, and 60*c under load with fan on. Had to snap the screw thread on one side to make it fit, and bent the other two to add more pressure, might've worked better if I could've cut around it with a dremel but quite frankly, i couldn't be arsed.

  • where to buy this chipset thing online?

  • I love this mod, I was one of the first to do it!

  • There is not a good cooling design from the factory on the Acer aspire one. I will buy one and make it fanless ;)

    Good video anyway!

  • Ya, these newer netbooks have a smaller (crappier) heatsink. It doesnt have walls like yours so adding onto its gonna be more of a challange.
