Using MAX/MSP/JITTER, we developed a program that reads RGB glow sticks and makes appropriate frqeuencies depending on the user's movement.
This is a demo of the program while we were getting ready for "Totally Wired," a show at the Soundlab in Buffalo, NY on May 7th, 2008.
The program works by color tracking, and the lower the position on both the x and y coordinate system, the lower the frequency and vice versa. Demonstration consists of 1 projection, 3 cameras and 3 computers, and of course the r/g/b glow sticks.
It would be interesting to create a musical vocabulary so that the dancer could create a melody (or several) with their movement and the glow sticks.
