  • Richard Butterfield the Expert replies: In this case the key persuasion is moving from undecided to decided with a secondary objective of moving soft support to solid support.

I predict that Obama will win on both of these fronts. Biden Palin is too whcky to predict...except that it will be more like American Idol than Presidentail politics.

  • Laura Lewis-Barr the Expert replies: Obama uses more natural paralanguage elements. His vocal inflection, rate of speech, volume, and pitch feel more spontaneous because he is constantly varying these elements. McCain has problems with a monotone inflection and a slow, unvaried rate of speech. These make McCain seem less knowledgeable or sincere.

  • Shel Horowitz the Expert replies: Obama. He can work a crowd, and he doesn't have the baggage of the failed policies on Iraq and the economy.

  • election is going to be interesting.

  • Paul Anderson the Expert replies: Names aside, the person that is most trained in psychology and linguistics has a much better shot because they'll be able to focus their results instead of taking the shot gun approach.

I believe Obama has better training out of the two candidates "could have been trained by the same people that trained President Clinton (i.e."Tony Robbins", etc); however McCain has a lot of similarities to President Bush's communication style which was elected twice so this

  • style.

  • Michelle Eppley the Expert replies: Though Obama has gotten a lot of press as being a great speaker, I have not been impressed with his style. He can come across as arrogant or worse, sometimes he seems to have difficulty constructing a sentence when speaking extemporaneously. On the other hand, McCain can come across as a hot-head. I believe the high expectations of Obama will work against him, and that McCain will prevail as the more persuasive candidate, provided he can relax his speaking

  • Ronald Kaufman the Expert replies: If it's a prepared statement, Obama due to his poise and mastery of presenting. If it's off the cuff, McCain could do better due his years of experience.
