"Downtown Stomp," Pat Donohue (b. 1953). "I first heard him on the radio and got upset. Then I heard him in concert and got more upset. He thinks harmonically, improvises beautifully, and writes. If you're a guitar player, he's going to haunt you," states finger-style guitar virtuoso Leo Kottke. Pat Donohue's compositions display an effortless combination of hopping bass lines, intricate harmonic support and deftly executed melodic hooks. "Downtown Stomp" was inspired by the great boogie-woogie pianists of yesteryear.

  • It sure is a lot of work! Practicing at least 5 hrs a day is the trick.
