@dvlaries i don't know. elvis did a pretty awesome job and so did loretta lynn. and yes they were influenced by the black music that they heard when they grew up, but they did a pretty good job.

It all boils down to having the passion for God in your soul. Ms. Franklin was raised in the church. When she sings you can feel it trickle down your spine. Her heart is in it; you can hear it. This woman was and is blessed with a tremendous gift. I wouldn't even try to compare another singer to her.
