A few thoughts... check out "Jakes Performance Hobbies" of Rohnert Park California (usa). He Is doing alright. I think this may be because he hosts local races and events. Personally I like to build my own rc because I know I can fix it myself. This word needs to get out.
But these future kids with their short attention spans and this economy being like it is. I do fear RC will change. But there must be a way that RC parts will live on. Instead of people just buying a new piece of junk.
great response video bud :) Dave is one of my mentors.. and I started my channel off of the advice he had out on video last year. Now it's huge! keep on having fun bro... rc is here to stay
I agree that the Nitro RC aircraft market/industry will die soon. The gas (or whatever) real aircraft industry/market will likely be partly overruled by Electric flight. It's mostly "older guys" that fly Nitro, and us younger generation/kids that fly electric. (and not only younger for electric, many "older guys" are in to Electric)
I've always been interested in RC but only got really into in over the last three years. I agree that the nitro side of the industry is going to mostly die off in the future. Why bother with the difficulty, noise, and temperment of gas engines when you can just plug and play?
I think that the nitro powered aircraft market WILL die away in the next few years mostly due to the fact that battery technology has VASTLY improved in the last 10 years. I have just gotten into the RC aircraft world and am loving it. I am fixing up and old Cessna 152 type .46 sized airplane that should be very fun to fly. I also think that there will(like Dave mentioned) be MANNY more quality RTF and ARF electric airplanes available on the market in the next few years.
