She's quite convincing in ALL the roles she played ! Specially dramatic scenes like with sophie's choice, it doesn't seem like a movie, it's like I'm actually there!! All her films are a masterpiece!! Love this woman!! :-D

She also spoke Australian in A Cry in the Dark with a country accent because Chamberlain was actually raised in the rural area of AU. This is why Meryl is considered the greatest actress in the planet This' also why I didn't understand the hype that Viola Davis was gonna beat her at the Oscars.

Sophies Choice is only 1 of a few I have not watched yet...I dont like Nazi movies...this scene freaked me out...so cruel...sadistic...brilliant performance

ugh. what gets me the most about that sophie's choice scene is the man's eyes. so dark, so leering, so lacking in human compassion. he's at once revolting and disturbing with the look in his eyes alone. a very hard scene to watch, even after repeated viewings.
