@LiteSpeedRC I tried that strategy on the Commodore 64 version and I don't think it works that way. To me it looked like it was based solely on your ranking and boxer type. So a #3 ranked boxer who is 22-6 would be the same as a #3 ranked boxer who is 12-0
I don't know if there is anyone out there who can answer this. But I always wanted to know how you got your increases in stats. Your stamina, agility, strength, endurance and so on. It seems like at 10 wins they go up. What I want to know is can you keep fighting lesser guys and sort of build up your character?
I never could become the champ at this, and believe me I tried. I had a guy ranked #2, but I'd always get destroyed by Boris Nikolenko and the number 1 contender (I think he was called Sonny Robinson).
Did anyone win the title? What would happen if you did?
Is "Barry McGuigan Boxing" the non-US or European version of the game? The version I had (US version?) was called "Star Rank Boxing." It was the exact same game but instead of Barry McGuigan as the champ, they renamed him Boris Nikolenko. I think they gave him different colored trunks too.
