This video shows a 'quick' rundown on how to download maps onto your computer, as a file, so you can stick it into a usb drive or your gps later. I had already chosen the L1 (3/4 Sq. Mi) area (represented by the smaller squares in the middle to illustrate the area covered by L3 and L1 downloads.
Here's the big plus about doing this:

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND YOUR ENTIRE VACATION TRYING TO DOWNLOAD THE MAPS YOU BOUGHT FROM THE SLOW ASS, 1993 VINTAGE, DIALUP SERVERS AT BUSHNELL!!

Hopefully, this will help you make an informed decision whether to buy (or not) the ONIX line of GPS'S as many have opinions...but they haven't even used/seen one!! Or they will use it on water so it will be useless. Hmmm, strange. It also gives the gps coordinates so you can find your way back to that special spot in the lake.

Go to http://www.bushnell.com/manuals/gps/Map_Download_Tutorial.pdf
For the official 'pdf guide' for this.
