@WarblesOnALot Thank you for watching and posting your comments. It was indeed very disturbing seeing that lady's head busted open, and there had to be another way of getting that knife from her. It's also amazing how some people don't have a problem with the tactics used by the police here.

you said it.. she was weilding a knife.. they asked her to give it to them and she wasn't having it. SO WHAT DO YOU DO? "ok mamm go cut someone" and walk away? get the foam wrestling mat so i can gently drop this old bird? everyone says "excessive force" with no answers on what another option is. And she may be old but if the cop grabs her.. that knife still cuts. what about pepper spray? no? still too much? never a winning answer

Sean67, thank you for not just getting on here and talking trash about the police! I know this looked really bad, but the Officer really couldnt have done much more in the way of preventing harm to this woman.The taser is a great, and very humane tool, but once its deployed, it drops people really hard as well. Either way, she wouldve fallen to the ground pretty hard. Plus, there is the risk of her falling on the knife and stabbing herself. Real sticky spot for the Officer.

thanks , seand67.Yeah ... Between the racists on both sides & the willing fascists worshiping their Law& Order , it's a messy discussion. Sad when ya recall that most Cops begin as Boyscouts wanting to help old ladies accross the road...

The officer should be fired because she should've waited for back up. Otherwise once she had her arm she could've used her night stick to prior the knofe from her hand. Most of all she should've waited for back up they could've came from behind and then remove the knife. If not fired she should at least be sent home for awhile with no pay. That's just bad Policing on her part and could've hurt an old woman and her self. that can't be normal protocal.

@thomas2lame Thats sum BS ur talkin! I'm N my 30's and I'm not an officer but I could've de-armed her w/o incident. There's no reason a trained officer should have 2 use this type of force on an 87 year old woman whose on a cane at that!! U obviously have no clue if you think this is the only way possible. I bet if this had been ur grandmother or even mother you'd have a different feel about it. Also, who cares whether someone says smash, busted, or whatever. You know what they talkin about!

@ACelloFella because this isn't a movie, and the cops aren't going to take any chances with someone non-compliant with a weapon advancing toward them. It's unfortunate that the old woman was injured but it would have been equally unfortunate if she stabbed an innocent bystander for whatever reason. P.S. you have a medical report of all her injuries or what, and is smashing her head open the technical injury or is that for added dramatic effect?
