Rick Reye's full testimony before Congress on April 23, 2009.

Thanks to your efforts, we were able to bring Rick Reyes, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, to Congress's attention. A former Corporal in the US Marines, Reyes was powerful and truthful as he told Senator John Kerry and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, "I urge you on behalf of truth and patriotism to consider carefully and rethink Afghanistan. More troops, more occupation is not the answer."

Reyes's testimony raises critical concerns that Congress must address before approving a massive supplemental war funding bill in the next few weeks. Let's work to halt this war funding bill by calling our Representatives, and urging them not to vote for it until all the questions raised in these hearings have been answered. If you're not sure who represents you, find out here.

  • When you go to speak in front of congress, it's a good idea to know what you're talking about, hence the reading. Some people can't just make up things as they go along because they aren't good at speaking, no fault of theirs...Congressmen do this all the time so it isn't exactly something unnatural.

  • That's the NEOCONS Talkin .. FUCK ALL NEOCONS!

Rick Reyes is not a fool.. YOU ARE!

  • This is what i was looking for. Thank you for sharing.

  • To those of you who can only reply by name calling, and accusations. Why is it that you can only reply to this Marine's concern for not only your welfare, but that of other human beings. Is he lying? A fake? Why would he express his concerns if they weren't genuine? Is he getting paid to do this? I don't think so. Where as a person towing the status quo would most likely be receiving some sort of material payment, his only payment is to satisfy his need for justice.

  • @fakepeoplethatlie Go fuck yourself Troll. How is he a fake. Just becasue he has a opinion different than yours does not mean hes a digrace. He fought and took bullets so your fatass here can sit at home and troll all day calling men of war fakes. I may not agree with the war but do support our troops. Im grateful for there service. So Shut the fuck Up!!!

  • @fakepeoplethatlie yeah hes such a fake that congress hasnt yet discovered him to be lying right? You're an idiot who is obviously trolling. Go back under whatever rock you crawled out of.

  • @DeuceMP2 it's not just the neo-cons/bush/cheney... the policy under obama remains the same, nothing has changed.

  • What a disgrace. What a Fake.

  • this really makes me sick!

  • I'm sure he was really nervous as well.

  • thanks for your service brother, I was there 2006-2007.

  • I agree w/ you. However I dont think CPL Reyes means to dishonor vets I think he just wanted to point out some of the ways they went about the war wrong. While serving in Iraq and Afghanistan I saw my fellow soldiers, who I love like brothers, treating the population in an ungenerous manner and I corrected it as best as I could. However our conduct was 95%professional to all. Serving has made me a better citizen and committed to never seeing someone like Bush in power ever again.
