Gale was born in New Zealand, but raised in Canada, and this actress, singer, and songwriter was part of that rich mixture of popular music in the late summer and fall of '64 with "We'll Sing In The Sunshine". The song was her own composition and only chart hit peaking at #4 in September of 1964.

  • What a sweet, pure song. Oh, if music could still be this great. Love it!!!!

  • @Hendo56 Lyrically, this song is ahead of its time because most young women at the time were more apt to get attached. The thing is,when she says one year in the song,a lot can happen in that time.

  • @chilitoday Yes, but not to the extent of being TOO annoying. (and ADMIT -- a WHOLE LOT better than singing sharp ANYDAY !)

  • Great song. Full-voiced, she made this a real work of art.

  • I was 12 when this was a hit...we vacationed at Lake Pymatuming...and I had a big time crush on a girl (13) there..and saw her for three summers straight..this song takes me there...amazing! We taught each other how to kiss...it was so cool....

  • @PapillonOne yep, and it was AM...what`s fm???

  • I am so glad we didn't have a TV in those days. Mom always had the radio on.

  • @MrBaseballstl Ahhhhh what a sweet memory. This song was well ahead of its time for that era. Always loved it!

  • @grundid44 totally agree, perfect

  • The slight drop in pitch is a modulation. Still in key and on pitch for the technique. She's good!

Thank you for posting this, and in this quality.

  • EXCELLENT QUALITY IN SOUND AND PIX! loud enough, clear, great balance of treble & bass, no static-blip- or interference...timely ending...good clear pix . THANKZ FOR THE MEMORIES!

  • A Great Song and Great story(Ballad) one of my Moms 's favorite. I would watch her as she would be ironing for family (6 siblings) and this song came on the radio and I think she would escape for a few minutes.
