Pro-War Rally Held at Lafayette Crosses Pts 1

On March 8th the pro-war group, Move America Forward, staged a rally at the Lafayette Hillside Iraq War memorial that was built and is maintained by anti-war activists. The rally was the groups first stop on a cross country caravan to DC. They used our spatial representation of the cost of the war to serve there agenda, unquestioning aproval of the Bush regime and continous warfare and attacking the peace movement as cowardly. Many of the Move America Forward protesters have or have lost love one in Iraq and as the blogger, Insane Begger, commented on my last post, they express their pain as anger at those who want to honor the soldiers but not the war. Perhaps, they see the Lafayette Memorial as simply an attack on the Bush war policy and not as an attempt to create a culture that is aware of what war really means. What comes across is there agression and as one anti-war activist observeded "I've never seen so much machismo on International Women's Day."

What do you mean? In the side bar i try to expain my own emotional/ideological response to move america forward and try to explain their own position (ie. War is never a good thing but it is good that Saddam is gone so he can no longer gas innocent kurds in the north invade small countries and allow for murder and rape to run rampant. No war is good but doing what is right and giving freedom a chance is and may the U.S. succeed and the troops come home safe.

You have no idea what your talking about, i know me and every person i've met in the military, know it wasnt a shitty reason. we love our country and the people that support it, Dying in battle isn't glorifying or anything but i rather die for a belief and for something i stand for then in a armchair at the age of 61 bitching about the stuff i want to change. And how did we have more freedom before the war? laws didnt change, rights didnt change. all that changed was preparation and security
