Bowhunting Black-Back Jackal in Namibia

Black-back jackal killed near Borodino, Namibia on 24 October, 2008. Outfitter was African Twilight Safaris (africantwilightsafaris.com) and PH was Mare' van de Meere.

I was in an elevated blind and he made the mistake of stopping long enough for me to get an arrow through him from approximately 25m.

Jackals are very common in Africa, similar to fox and coyotes in N. America. They're gorgeous but considered pests so hunters are encouraged to kill them whenever they can.

Equipment was a Mathews switchback, Carbon Express Rebel shafts with 125gr Magnus 4-blade Stinger. He went about 75m before collapsing. I'm having a full mount done with him.
