@sheepy2468 i think u did a slip up am sure u meant the timing chain remember the TR 2.5 PI had a lucas mechanical fuel injection in the 60s so did the TR6 sports car what kind of lubrication did it had something like a dry sum as they do on F1s today?

this must be the only engine that an be given the title as one of the decisive "weapons" of WW2 without it how would the bale of Britain had turned out even if the RAF won that very decisive battle how many Lancasters n other bombers would a been lost over germany without the Merlin powered Mustang fighter plane? RR also had the First Reliable Jet engine in the world used on the famous Mig 15 n Saber fighters in korea but what an amazing engine to OWN

@1999sebring they have little flaps on the cams that open a valve at a certain time

@1999sebring It was mechanical injection in that era, running the fuel pump from the timing belt I believe.

How did the fuel injection work on these engines there were no computers back then to control the injectors??
