As Aunt Alice, Ruth Gordon applies for the job of housekeeper in the Tucson, Arizona home of widow Claire Marrable (Geraldine Page) in order to find out what happened to a missing widowed friend, Edna Tilsney (Mildred Dunnock). The crazed Page, left only a stamp album by her husband, takes money from her housekeepers, kills them, and buries the bodies in her garden. Alice is a widow too. So is neighbor Harriet Vaughn (Rosemary Forsyth). Lots of widows here. Written by alfiehitchie.

  • WHATEVER HAPPENED TO AUNT ALICE?

An Aldrich and Associates Production From Cinerama Releasing Corporation,

A Subsidiary of the American Broadcasting Company. 1969 Palomar Films Corporation.

Rated M-Mature Audiences:Parental Discretion Is Advised.

  • Turner Classic Movies showed this movie of 01/17/2012. A TCM Premiere from 1969. You got two of the best actresses going at it in one picture...Geraldine Page plays not only a homicidal manic, but a psychological killer that stars Ruth Gordon, Rosemary Forsyth and Robert Fuller. At the time of it's release it was given an "M" rating due to some disturbing violence in 1969.

  • My Aunt and Uncle took my brother and I and my cousins to see this movie when we were kids, and I saw it for the first time in over 40 years last night on TMC channel!

  • @Ro34100 That's interesting!! In other words, the titles don't always transfer word for word because of language considerations. I wonder if folks from Germany , Spain , Arabic etc, could give us other examples

  • Ms. Page could be terrifying--even in her 'sober' roles there was a strange subtle look of evil in her eyes even as she smiled. Terrific actress--really one of the best of all time.

  • Whatever Happened to My Virginity??!!

  • i need to watch this, I'm going to love this fucking movie wow!

  • Is more scary than baby jane thats a fail straight off ? Slander ah no there both good Baby jane cause its black and white and this causes it colour but it gives the whole move away in the trailer
