An on-location shoot of a new CEO. We had about 10 minutes for the actual session, with about a 20 minute set-up.
We used a 3 light set, with a main, fill and hair light....all soft boxes. Using a hand held flash meter, we easily established the lighting ratios. For some more details please visit our website www.photographybydon.com Look under the Tips and Techniques link

  • it's made by Lee Filters, and yes it holds filters, as well as being a great lens shade

  • shot at f/8..based on the amount of light on the subject's face

  • You did the three lights softbox set-up

and lft the florescent lights on overhead?

  • yeah, it's not a problem as long as the shutter speed and aperture combination cuts out the ambient (flourescent in this case) I was most likely shooting at approx 1/60th at around f/8

  • I been looking for one of those foldable backdrops, where can I find one.. Hope you can help.. Love your videos....

  • Glad you like em...it's a lot of fun making them.

The company that makes the backdrops is Westcott...or, technically...FJ Westcott

    very well made stuff....don

  • Gum..... really!

  • stop chewing gum in the mic.

  • The backdrop is extremely dated.

  • Listening to someone chewing is never nice...apart from that, useful video, although it seemed a lot of set up for the result.

  • Nice communication and professionalism, liked this - like best practice. Thanks.

  • Thanks for all the vids! Question, Ive seen that lens hood / belows you use alot, who makes it and does it take filters? Thanks Again

  • Great vid...

The meter was 8.1 the hair light 5.6... so, what was the setting on the camera?

    thanks for sharing!
