Strahinja Banović or Strahinjić Ban (Serbian: Бановић Страхиња) is an Serbian national hero from the late 14th century.
Strahinja ruled a small part of land in Kosovo prior to the Battle of Kosovo (1389). He was married to Anđelija, daughter of Jug Bogdan. She was kidnapped by Ottoman vassal Vlah Alija after Turks ravaged his fort. Strahinja asks Jug Bogdan if he and his brothers-in-law (the Jugovići) could rescue her, but Jug Bogdan refused, since Anđelija had slept with the Turk, and brought great shame to the family. He seeks for her in the Goleč mountain, where Vlah Alija is stationed. Strahinja finally finds him and slices his throat with his teeth, as a wolf would kill a sheep. He returns to Kruševac with his wife where her brothers wait to kill her. Strahinja steps in front and tells them he had forgiven his wife.
He is the subject of the 1983 movie Banović Strahinja.
