This is an 8-minute documentary filmed and edited for my final project at Brighton University. It concerns our views and values about appearances in a western society, together with the ways in which we conform to what our modern day society 'think' we should look, who we desire to be, and the ways in which the media executes a large amount of visuals demonstrating to us what their idealistic views of beauty are. Influenced by the profound philosopher Marshall McLuhan -- "We don't shape the media the media shapes us"
The underlying significance that I attempt to convey is that the value of these images are generating a social impact, fabricating people to question how they feel about themselves, and that this shift is primarily driven by manufactured cultural products either through the media or within it, itself.
This is EXCELLENT!!! I'm going to share it with my students. Job well done to you sir!
