ahh yes! once again, modern technology helps to enable laziness! viva la 80s!. incidentally, I still have one of these collecting dust in the basement. it kept turning the tv off every time somebody laughed too loud!

My local newspaper once asked readers to send in their stories about their aggravating neighbors. One woman wrote in about her next door neighbor who clapped on and off all day long. One clap followed by two claps. Apparently this guy worked nights and his cat would howl through the night until its owner got back in the morning. Finally, she wrote, he packed up and moved, taking his "neurotic cat" with him. She says that she later found out he was the guy who invented the clapper.

I remember seeing this commercial when I was a kid and thinking the Clapper was a pretty cool idea. As an adult I think: How lazy do you have to be to get one of these things? Yikes!
