Michael ("Mick", "Big Fella") Collins (Irish: Mícheál Seán Ó Coileáin; (1890.10.16 --1922.08.22) was an Irish revolutionary leader, Minister for Finance in the Irish Republic, Director of Intelligence for the IRA, and member of the Irish delegation during the Anglo-Irish Treaty negotiations. He was shot and killed in August 1922, during the Irish Civil War.

War is hell, innocents on both sides of the line did die, as did brave men on both sides. However, to call the IRA terrorists and not call the brits the same is an injustice. The IRA much like my american fore fathers were and are freedom fighters attempting seperation from british influence as a whole.

The land was called norhtern ireland, not western england for a reason you know.

The current IRA and the IRA in this film are almost completely unrelated.

The Pro-treaty IRA became the leadership of the Free State Army, which later became the Irish Defence Forces.

The only reason that the Dubliners disapproved and "spat" at the Risers is because it resulted in the destruction of most of Dublin's Inner City...
