Irish Dancing - Beatrice Reel

*PLEASE READ* There was a delay on my phone camera which makes it look like I'm slightly ahead of the music - this isn't the case when I'm dancing, its just my bloody phone! Next time I'll use the video camera lol.
I AM A RETIRED DANCER - I have not danced in competition since I was 19 - I'm 28 now.

*ALSO PLEASE READ* I am a RETIRED dancer. I have not danced in competition since I was 19 - I am now 26 so dancing is just a hobby for me.
Anyway.... I was having a wee practise of my new steps I made up :)

I absolutely love your dancing, but you're doing a thing that my teacher calls "horse-walking" (or something like that... :D I can't translate it so funnily as it is in Hungarian), that is, you're pulling your knee up in your jumps, instead of leaving it down and not letting it coming forth. But it's fastly treatable :)

you are ahead of the music i am an irish dancer have been dancing for 6 and a half years and u are faster than the average reel but u are a gr8 dancer :)

If you read in the side bar you will see that I wrote that my camera phone cant keep the music & the visual in time - its not my dancing, jst my stupid phone lol.

Watch your back leg on your overs [or leaps, whatever you want to call them], it comes forward.

When you do an over your foot is supposed to hit your butt and the tucked knee is never supposed to go higher than the straight knee. Your tucked knee doesnt tuck, it just comes right out. Focus on kicking your butt and that should help. If not watch some of parade of champs videos and compare their leaps to yours. You should see what she's talking about.
