2008 had 1 second more, the LEAP SECOND to adjust the earth rotation with the atomic clocks.

In this video you can see a project of mine, a 60 blue leds clock designed and built by me. This is a clock (uses a ATMEGA16) tuned to the DCF77. It manages the LEAP SECOND, so the last minute of the year had 61 seconds instead of 60. You can compare my clock with a radiocontrolled clock that doesn't manage the LEAP SECOND, so after 00:00 it goes 1 second forwarded.

  • The clock with the blue leds counts one second more (61) and the radiocontrolled clock don't.

  • So one clock is accurate, and the other is one second behind, correct? And let me guess-- it is the one with the lights that is behind, if not the digital clock.
