Head up the I-93 it's only 39 miles and 45 minutes to Manchester (NH) and that's my birthplace you know. This song came out when I lived in Reading, MA and the distance fit perfectly.

Real musicians, real lyrics, that conjure up real feelings that make you want to get in your car and just drive for miles. Pure genius!

Hadn't heard this song in years until I heard it today on the radio. All I can say is WOW! ...... a true classic from the 80's and I'm so glad I've rediscovered this gem. Thank you so much for posting!

Brilliant to hear this again... reminds me of sitting in the back of my parents' car, after visiting family in West Yorkshire back to to east of England. I swear this song played on the radio... in the dark... hills lit up like fairy lights... that's the north of England for me. I live abroad now... but that's what i remember and hold dearly. God bless the North.

an iconic 80's song. If you grew up then you will know what I mean. Haunting chorus sticks in my mind.

I remember driving along country roads in 1986 when this was a hit, with it playing in the background!
